Frequently asked questions

How do I open a PSD file without Photoshop?

Open OnlinePSDEditor in any modern browser and drag the .psd file onto the page, or use File › Open. The layers appear in the Layers panel, ready to view and edit. Nothing needs to be installed.

Is my PSD file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and edited by your browser on your own device. It is never sent to a server.

Can I open a PSD on a Chromebook, Linux PC or tablet?

Yes. The editor runs in modern browsers on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS, and supports touch with pinch to zoom and two-finger pan.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded. Very large PSDs are limited only by your device's memory and your browser's canvas limits.
